On Friday, November 5, the high school boys and girls basketball teams competed in a preseason game against the Grace faculty and staff. The girls defeated the female faculty by a single point, and the boy's team won by a larger margin. The male faculty team was led by the junior high assistant coach, El, but the faculty wore down as the game continued. Other faculty members included Mr. Goolsbay, Christian Killinger, Mr. Yandian, and Mr. Bistline, for the male team; and Mrs. Stewart, Sarah Ash, Mrs. Elish, and Mrs. Richardson for the female team. Mr. Cap and Coach Langbartels played for both the male and female faculty teams.

This annual event signals the beginning of the basketball season, and begins to generate excitement for both the varsity and junior varsity teams. There are high expectations for both the boys and girls teams. The boys look to improve on a second place Sooner Conference finish and the consolation championship at tri-state, while the girls are much improved from the previous year. Both teams return the majority of their players from last year, and should continue to improve on last year's success.
