Natalee Ann Williams, a 16-year-old
Grace student, was recognized for her artistic abilities and
was awarded third place on one of her watercolor paintings.
She entered a contest called Rodeo Art through the Tulsa State
Fair. Last school year Natalee did an assignment in art class,
and after she submitted it, her art teacher thought her project
should be entered into the Rodeo Art contest. Natalee was
thrilled, and she jumped on the opportunity to be in a state
competition.
The competition began around
the month of April and ended the beginning of October. After
waiting so patiently, Natalee finally got the results of the
contest: she found her name posted on the web at TulsaStateFair.com!
She was so excited when she found out she got third place.
All of Natalee's hard work paid off in the end when she receiver
her third-place white ribbon. In her category, there were
about thirty participants against whom she was competing.
There were two divisions in the high school level and she
entered the freshman-sophomore category.
This painting took her about
three weeks to complete, during which she worked on her project
every day for at least an hour. Even though she enjoyed this
project very much and did very well on it, she does not know
if she wants to enter this contest again. Natalee would like
to enter a needle and thread contest at ORUEF this year and
plans on doing well in that contest also. Needle and thread
and art are some of her favorite hobbies. Not only does this
artistic young lady work on these at school, but she spends
some of her time at home on these projects as well. We all
want to recognize Natalee for her great accomplishment and
say "congratulations."
