November 12 was a day of gardening for the National Honor Society students at Grace Christian School. NHS members dedicated their time Friday to helping the Grace South parking lot look a little bit better for the upcoming winter months. It all started after lunch, so we entered into work with full stomachs and helping hands. The girl members cut the tarp that was to be laid down on the wood chippings and dirt from before. The guys started out by pulling weeds and digging out the unnecessary dirt from around the edges to help the new mulch stay within its perimeters.
After all the pulled weeds, dug trenches, and laid tarp, came the laying of the new mulch. Paul Ash and Ryan Tauss were the main mulch machos. Neil Strom and Michael Howard took full wheel barrow loads of mulch to the needed places. This task could have taken much longer than it did, but with hard work and a team effort, the task was completed with great efficiency. The members of NHS at GCS are proud of their efforts to make Grace an even more beautiful place for education. |
