On Thursday, October 28, the Grace
Christian students danced the night away at the Duinincks’
“country mansion.” Bill Rowlands taught them many
new and fun line dances, which everyone caught on to quickly.
Students danced to all their favorite classic country tunes
for hours. They had hamburgers and hot dogs for supper, and
later took a break from dancing to roast delicious s’mores
over a crackling campfire. The winners of the best dressed
contest were Zach Avery and Amber Bavuso. The winners of the
best dancing contest were Claire Tiernan and Jacob Briscoe.
As the night went on, the students continued to have lots
of fun frolicking with their friends and talking about their
country dancing experience.
We had many special honored guests, including
Pastor Bob and Loretta Yandian, Chip and Gwen Olin, and Dr.
Stewart and his wife. They all had fun getting to know the
students and watching them dance energetically with their
friends. They even joined in on several of the dances. Mrs.
Cook also attended the hoedown. She shot video and took pictures
of all the students having fun on this yee-hawing good night.
Bunmi Fagbenro also attended, who of course is the life of
every party.
Everyone who attended the hoedown
thoroughly enjoyed this country western evening under the
stars. It was a night of romance and fun times that will be
remembered for a lifetime. Many thanks go to the Duinincks
for their gracious hospitality to Grace Christian School,
and to the Student Council for all their hard work in the
setup and preparation for this delightful occasion.
