Fourth grader Tera Cook jumped at the opportunity
to compete in the Oklahoma Aquarium's first annual photography
contest. This year the Oklahoma Aquarium hosted a photography
contest with three different categories including: youth,
amateur, and professional. With great excitement, Tera entered
two different photos in the competition.
Several weeks later, she received the great
news that she had been waiting for. Tera was elated when she
found out that she won first and second place for her two
photos in the youth category. Her first place photo was named
"Peek-a-boo", which consisted of a clown fish coming out of
an urn on its side. Tera's second place photo, "Tickle Tickle",
was of a clownfish coming out of a sea anemone.
For her great accomplishment, she was awarded
gift certificates, a personalized fish blanket, and a five
foot tall stuffed fish. Tera came out with a great experience
that she will forever remember. She will definitely be first
in line next year to compete with her fishy friends.
