As a part of their class work, the 8th grade students were given opportunity to research and create a Power Point presentation. The students had to work in groups to research an assigned topic, and create a Power Point presentation for their classmates.
The topics were as follows:
- archaeological/scientific evidence supporting the Flood in Genesis
- a comparison of the Fertile Crescent between Biblical and Modern times to include people, agriculture, and climate
- a brief history of the Israelites
- descriptions of Noah's Ark including dimensions, how it stayed afloat, and where it landed
- information regarding covenants and how they are used today
- the development of languages and writing to include if the information supports or denies the biblical account of the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11.
The groups gave their presentations in class and were evaluated by the other students. The purpose of the project was to improve the student's research capabilities, learn more about the Bible, and give an oral presentation. The students worked long and hard on their subject as they completed research, made a storyboard, and developed their final Power Point presentation.
