. . . being social.

The Grace middle school students have enjoyed two “Socials” thus far this year; the first took place on September 17, and the most recent was on October 1. Here is some commentary about these fun-filled events, contributed by several eighth-grade English students who attended:

At the first social there were lots of games and food to enjoy. We played games like “Ships and Sailors” and “tug-o-war” with a thick, long rope…Hanna Duininck won the first round of Ships and Sailors. After that, everyone enjoyed socializing, volleyball, and basketball…then we went out to the pavilion and had hamburgers and hot dogs that Mr. Cap had cooked; they were very good. -Hannah Rhinehart

I was at the bowling social, and I beat Lauren by 20 balls. After Bowling we went to CiCi’s Pizza and I won two big toys. I had a lot of pizza and fun. (Bogdan also gave away one of his prizes to a younger student.) -Bogdan Konovalov

…at CiCi’s we ate a lot of pizza. We made a big plate of crust. There were probably fifty crusts there. At the bowling alley, I played a game of bowling. I scored a seventy. Daniel won in our group. It was really fun. -Evan Chasteen

…the junior high students went bowling at Timber Lanes Bowling Alley. I got one strike and several spares. I bowled With Brittani, Tyler, Bogdan, and Mackenzie. Some of us went to CiCi’s Pizza. Everybody always tries to out eat each other. It was a very fun social. -Lauren Rivers

The socials were very fun. For the first one, we went to the gym. We played tug-o-war. It was the eight grade versus everyone else. The eighth grade lost the first game, then we all played again and when they started pulling we let go and they pulled backwards. It was so funny. For the second social we went bowling. After bowling we went to CiCi’s and had pizza and played games. I got really full. -Brittani Ray
