Grace’s cross country team had a relaxing breakfast after their September 24th early morning practice. Dr Stewart joined us for the meal before heading off to his morning meeting with the teachers. We spent time discussing the race that was to come the next morning, as well as our strategies that would prove vital in doing well in the meet. Coach Mike told us the times that we were all to meet the next day and also urged us to push ourselves and not to quit.

On Saturday the twenty-fifth, the Grace cross-country team participated in the eighteenth annual Holland Hall cross-country meet. The Holland Hall course consisted of many inclines and steep hills through trees; this proved very challenging and tough to push through. We all meet our times and some of us even went past our goals. Some of the teams that made up this meet were Broken Arrow, Dutch, Union, Bixby, and also Jenks America. All these teams proved to be tough competition but we all met the standard and succeeded in our races.

This meet was the most difficult race of our season. Coach Mike and Mr. Castle trained us from day one to prepare us for this race. We have had many hill and long distance workouts in practices that proved to be a vital part of our success in the Holland Hall meet.
