See You at the Pole is an annual meeting for
public prayer, held by schools in mid-September. They gather
at the school’s flagpole outside of the regular classroom
hours, usually at seven a.m. The First Amendment of the U.S.
Constitution guarantees freedom of religious expression. It
also guarantees freedom from the imposition of religion by
the government…including within public schools.
On Wednesday, September 15, Grace Christian School held the
annual See You at the Pole event. Many of the students, visiting
parents, and the Grace Fellowship Church staff came to school
early to pray for their government, school, and peers. The
students enjoyed praising God as the Chapel Band led them
in praise and worship. Jamie Goolsbay, Vanessa Lyons, Neil
Strom, Lindsay and Jessica Davis, and Jacob Briscoe shared
from their hearts and prayed for their school. See You at
the Pole touched many of the students’ hearts and brought
unity to the student body.
