On Saturday, the eleventh of September, Grace's cross-country team made a long drive to Shawnee, Oklahoma to participate in the Saint Gregory's University Meet. The meet was expected to have a good turnout, and indeed it did. There were over fifteen teams participating in the meet including Edmund, Lindsay and Shawnee.
The Grace Fellowship school bus left at 5:30 in the morning. We all were very tired and slept the entire way there, but we all preformed remarkably well, and to the best of our abilities. The Grace team showed strong through our races and all obtained medals and beat personal records. The medals ranged from the first through the fifteenth runner to cross the finish line.
The practice, determination and team work of the Grace cross-country team showed that we can "do all things through Christ." After the race, Grace runner Josh Cason stated, "The last mile in my race, I felt like I was going to quit because it hurt too much to keep going; but then, I asked God to give me the strength to keep running and then I just felt a boost of energy. It was sweet!"
