Play Ball!! That's what the Grace Christian Eagles were ready to do Friday. The weather was perfect for grass stains and clay-filled cleats. The sun was shining at high noon and the air was crisp with the warmth of spring. The first game was a piece of cake for the Grace Baseball team; players were focused and hitting well enough to score consecutively in the innings.
With hope high, Grace entered the second game with great determination. They started the game with fans second-guessing their ability, but with Eddie Van Matre hitting an out-of-the-park homerun with two runners-batted-in, the fans quickly regained their trust in the teams' talent and the team itself regained the magic that they had the first game. The second game was won by a gap of eight also. The Eagles ended the day with great success and pride, representing their school with great flair.
