Winners All

It's the one time of year that both students
and parents have nightmares about killer plants. Those who
don't have science nightmares don't have time to sleep. What
is this dream-haunting ghoul? Who is this sleep-stealing beast?
Students say it like they're cursing. Ah.science fair. Side
effects of science fair include dark circles under eyes, irritability,
and extreme stress overload. While some students scurry about
to perfect every little detail of their boards and reports,
others just pray that they'll finish the whole project on
time. After working for countless hours on their projects,
it was time to reap the rewards.
On January 25th, 2005, Grace students and
their parents partook of the benefits of their stressful diligence.
They sleepily attended the Science Fair Awards Ceremony. At
the ceremony, Dr. Stewart gave a short but effective speech,
congratulating the students on their successes. He then introduced
Mr. West, who acknowledged the students' efforts, parents'
support, and judges' contributions. Next Mr. West announced
the winners. Colorful ribbons highlighted the best projects,
and several projects were selected to attend the Regional
Science Fair. Those who participate in the regional competition
could later qualify to compete at the state or even international
level. The rest of the students smiled and said "Whew, glad
that's over."
In closing, I would like to thank all who
were involved in this year's science fair. To the judges,
thank you for carefully reviewing the projects. The following
science teachers also deserve special thanks: Mrs. West, Mr.
Ash, Mrs. Cason, Mr. Miller, and Mrs. Warner. To the students,
congratulations, good job, and start counting down the days
until your next science fair project; it will be here sooner
than you think.
