Mrs.
Rita Davis' sixth-grade class has been participating in the
"Meet the Masters" art program for the past two months. In
this program, the students get to learn about the life and
art of some of history's most famous master artists, such
as Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Pablo Picasso,
and Winslow Homer.
After learning about a particular artist,
the students then get to do an art project in the style of
that artist. This program will continue through April, with
a new artist to be introduced each month. So far, the students
have produced some wonderful pieces of art that their parents
will enjoy seeing. Mrs. Weaver, sixth-grade Hutton's mother,
and Mrs. Reynolds, mother of Kelly, who is also a sixth grader,
come to the class and instruct the students in this course
that introduces the kids to the rich study of the humanities.
