After an exhausting week, parents
tiredly shuffled into the chapel. They practically fell into
their pews, closed their eyes, and listened to their little
angels create glorious harmony. The soft tunes of the instruments
and the light melody of the voices helped the parents enter
a state of peaceful bliss. Expressions of parental pride filled
their faces, and rows of broad smiles spanned the room. Clearly,
this was more than just a concert. It was a ministry.
Led by the musical mastermind, Tony Hutchinson,
each of the Beginner, Junior High, and High School Bands,
as well as the Sixth Grade, Junior High, and High School Choirs
starred in this masterpiece. The musicians and singers impressed
the joy of Christmas upon their parents' hearts as they performed
classic Christmas carols including "Carol of the Bells," "Jingle
Bells," and "Dashing Through the Snow." The Randolph family
also made a special appearance, performing a magnificent dance
to "Joy To The World." The evening included solos by Mark
Blanchard, who sang "I Wonder As I Wander," and Christa Barber,
who performed "Run to the Manger." Christa and Drue Hutchinson
also performed "Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel," in which both
carried the vocals and Drue played the guitar. The evening
concluded beautifully with Mr. Hutchinson and the Junior High
and High School Choirs leading the parents in singing "O Come
All Ye Faithful."
Overall, the musicians and singers blessed
their audience with the joy of Christmas.
