Student Code of Conduct

Since its philosophy and programs are built upon the principles of God’s Word, Grace Christian School must provide an environment conducive to the spiritual growth and development of young people who are not yet mature Christians. The result will be a life consecrated to God and separated from the world.

One of the prerequisites for success in life is self-discipline. It is by self-control we learn discipline. Christian discipline is learned by submitting to the authority of the home, school, and church. GCS emphasizes the development of self-discipline and submission to authority in all students and staff.

In order to attain the desired character goals for all students, the following code applies to all students at all times and in all places, on or off campus, including all school-sponsored activities.

  1. Students will not threaten anyone, use bad language, swear or use suggestive speech or sexually explicit language, as it will result in disciplinary action.

  2. Students engaging in discussion, use, or possession of tobacco, drugs, and/or alcoholic beverages will suffer disciplinary action.

  3. Students who destroy property will be dismissed from school until restitution is made.

  4. Discussion about or acts engaging in cheating, gambling, immoral or lewd behavior is forbidden and disciplinary action will be taken.

  5. Students are forbidden from using any part of the school day to engage in writing or passing of notes.

  6. Students are expected to act in an orderly and respectful manner, maintaining Christian standards in courtesy, kindness, language, morality, honesty, and strive toward unquestionable character in dress, conduct, attutudes, and respect for authority.

  7. The use of personal electronics such as CD players, iPods, computer games, or pagers is not permitted during the school day. The student and parents accept the risk of loss or damage to any such items brought to school or school related functions. Some items may be allowed in ASC at the discretion of the supervisors.

  8. No weapons (toy or real) are allowed.

  9. Cell phones may not be used during the school day by students. Any use will result in immediate confiscation and discipline.

  10. Students are not to engage in any public displays of affection.

  11. Students realize the use of school computers, expecially the internet connection, is a privilege not a guaranteed right. They will not use the computers for inappropriate or illegal transfer of information and will abide by the school local, county, state, and federal laws as well as the Acceptable Use Policy found in the GCS Handbook concerning Internet communications.

GCS believes the restrictions named are examples of conduct which are detrimental to the school standards. Students are expected to abide by these standards throughout their enrollment, whether at school, home, or elsewhere. Those found to be out of harmony may be asked to withdraw when the general welfare demands it, even though there may be no special breech of conduct.

The administration of Grace Christian School reserves the right to dismiss any student at anytime with or without cause, without prior notice or warning.
