Purpose and Vision
Grace Christian School (GCS) will:

  • be recognized nationally for academic excellence as a Christian school;
  • form a partnership with believing parents in the task of establishing our children in a total biblical world view;
  • help train up a generation of godly leaders who love learning and are sought after for their wisdom; and
  • prepare students, spiritually, academically, and in accordance with their God-given talents thus enabling them to handle the rigors of life with courage."

History
Grace Christian School (GCS) began operation in August of 1978 and is a separately incorporated educational ministry of Grace Church, a charismatic church, founded in Tulsa in 1972. Our school has grown dramatically since 1978 and continues to be blessed of the Lord. Grace Christian School’s beliefs, curriculum, policies and procedures are based on the adopted Tenets of Faith of Grace Church.

Accreditation
Grace Christian School is fully accredited through the International Christian Accrediting
Association (ICAA), the Commission on International and Transregional Accreditation (CITA), and the North Central Association (NCA). The ICAA is recognized by the State of Oklahoma through the OPSAC (Oklahoma Private School Accrediting Commission). The Oklahoma State Legislature has recognized all OPSAC schools as state accredited by statute. The ICAA is also a member of the NCPSA (the National Council of Private School Accreditation). The NCPSA is being recognized on a state-by-state basis and has been formally recognized by the Federal Department of Education.

Curriculum
Our curriculum is selected from various publishers including Abeka, Bob Jones, and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)

Student Responsibilities
We consider attendance at GCS to be a privilege, therefore Christ-like behavior is the primary responsibility of each student. Our student body is one of strong, obedient Christians.

I Timothy 4:12 says, “In speech, conduct, love, faith and purity show yourself an example of a believer.” Ephesians 6:4 commands parents to raise their children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.” To nurture a child is defined as training by means of rules and regulations, rewards and punishments. Admonition suggests giving verbal instruction with a view to correct.

Because of our desire to adhere to Biblical standards of character and conduct, all students will be expected to read or have read to them a copy of the Parent/Student Handbook in its entirety.

Dress Code
GCS students are required to follow a standardized dress code. A copy may be obtained from the school office.
